Closed-Form Study of Undetected Range Errors Induced by Ionospheric Anomalies for GAST-D GBAS

Abstract In ground-based augmentation system (GBAS) approach service type D (GAST-D), various ionospheric monitors are implemented in both aircraft and ground facilities to detect anomalies. Additionally, the largest undetected differential range errors induced by anomalies must be examined because these used geometry screening identify potentially unsafe satellite geometries. Based on front threat model, a closed-form expression of error has been established for GBAS C (GAST-C), where only monitoring is involved. This paper presents GAST-D, model plasma bubble taken into consideration. exhaustive simulations among all possible conditions, determined as linear function relative speed gradient magnitude anomaly. Compared with GAST-C, GAST-D demonstrates that use additional smaller time constant code-carrier smoothing filter can effectively reduce error.
